Nash UNC Health Care Welcomes Ten New Physicians to Community
ROCKY MOUNT, North Carolina (July 21, 2020) –
Nash UNC Health Care is welcoming ten new physicians to its medical staff this summer. The ten physicians will fill positions throughout the health system and community including Nash Surgery, UNC Orthopedics at Nash, Nash Women’s Center, UNC Ear Nose & Throat at Nash, UNC Cardiology at Nash, Carolina Regional Orthopedics, Rocky Mount Urology, and Nash General Hospital

Nash Surgery, a newly opened general surgery practice and collaboration between Nash Surgical Associates, Boice-Willis Clinic and Nash UNC Health Care, will be welcoming three of the nine physicians: Dr. Caron Warnsby, Dr. Veronica Zachry, and Dr. Reece Alkire.
Dr. Caron Warnsby has 15 years of experience as a general surgeon and specializes in breast surgery. Dr. Veronica Zachry is a general surgeon recently finishing her residency at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and Dr. Reece Alkire is also a general surgeon recently finishing his residency at Jefferson Health in New Jersey.
UNC Orthopedics at Nash will be welcoming orthopedic surgeon Dr. Clay Nelson, a native of Rocky Mount, who specializes in sports medicine. He returns to Rocky Mount with his family to join the practice where his father, Dr. Greg Nelson, has also been practicing for 29 years.
Carolina Regional Orthopaedics is welcoming Dr. Bernard Kemker, who specializes in adult joint replacement and will be working with the Joint Replacement Center at Nash UNC Health Care. He has been practicing orthopedics since earning his doctorate of medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2014. He then completed his residency as an orthopedic surgeon and spent another year practicing at Virginia Commonwealth University with a focus of joint replacement before joining Carolina Regional’s practice.
Nash Women’s Center is gaining a new neonatologist, Dr. Laura Reniker. Reniker is relocating to Rocky Mount from Mooresville, NC where she was Medical Director of Nurseries, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
UNC Ear, Nose & Throat at Nash welcomes general otolaryngologist, Dr. Marian Ghraib. She has been practicing otolaryngology since receiving her doctorate of medicine from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 2015. She then completed her residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA before moving to Rocky Mount to practice at UNC ENT at Nash.
UNC Cardiology at Nash welcomes Dr. Sudha Jaganathan to the practice. She is a cardiologist specializing in advanced heart failure therapies. She will be working primarily with UNC Cardiology at Nash’s Heart Failure Clinic, which was opened in September 2019.
Joining Rocky Mount Urology is Dr. A C Afiadata. Afiadata received his doctorate of medicine from University of Massachusetts Medical School in 2015. He then completed his residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School before joining Rocky Mount Urology this summer.
The Infectious Disease department at Nash General Hospital is welcoming Dr. Paula Dilanchian to provide infectious disease consulting and treatment. She is relocating to Rocky Mount from Miami, FL and has six years of experience in infectious disease. She began her career as a pharmacist before returning to medical school and receiving her doctorate of osteopathic medicine in 2007.
