UNC Orthopedics at Nash Relocates to New Building
Adding Orthopedic Specific Rehab Services to Practice
UNC Orthopedics at Nash moved to a new location this month.
The office of UNC Orthopedics at Nash, which was previously located in the Medical Arts Mall on the campus of Nash UNC Health Care, opened its new office, just across the parking lot, on Monday, Dec. 14.
The new location underwent extensive renovations to provide UNC Orthopedics at Nash a space that best meets the present and future needs of our patients.
“As the need for orthopedic care in our community has expanded, the growing need for a larger, more comprehensive space became evident to our board, leadership and medical staff in order to best serve our patients,” said Dr. L. Lee Isley, president and CEO of Nash UNC Health Care. “Along with recruiting new medical staff to our orthopedic teams, we had it in our strategic plan to expand and update our orthopedic facilities to ensure that we could provide the care that our community needs.”
“Our teams are excited to begin providing care to patients in the newly-renovated facility,” said Dr. Greig McAvoy, orthopedic surgeon and medical director of Nash UNC’s Joint Replacement Program.
Along with the new office, orthopedic-focused Outpatient Rehab services will now be available to patients in the same building.
“With this newly renovated building, we were able to provide an orthopedic-specific outpatient rehab area in the practice, providing easier, more streamlined access to post-operative rehab and care,” said Isley.
Brian Agan, executive director of rehabilitation services at Nash UNC Health Care, said the new move will be beneficial for patients.
“We are excited to have more space for our patients, new equipment and closer proximity to our orthopedic team to allow for easier consultation about patient care,” said Agan. “Our patients will benefit from having closer collaboration among the orthopedic team and the rehab staff during their rehabilitation. We are excited about the opportunity to provide this level of care; from first consultation, to surgery, to rehabilitation, all in one center.”
Current patients were contacted about the move last month. For more information about the orthopedics services UNC Orthopedics at Nash offers, visit NashUNCHealthCare.org/Ortho or call 252-962-4450.
