Prepare for Employment at UNC Health Nash

To prepare for your employment at Nash, you will need to will need to complete the following onboarding requirements and submit the required documents as outlined below. These requirements should have been assigned to you by your onboarding team member and documents will be sent to you through the email address you applied with.

Pre-Hire Tasks
Before you begin your new position, there are a few tasks that must be completed. These tasks have been communicated to you by your recruiter and/or onboarding specialist. These tasks include:
- Complete your E-Verify 1-9 Form. To learn more about the E-Verify process, please visit E-Verify (English) or E-Verify (Spanish). Please note that this link will expire 48 hours after it is originally sent.
- Complete your background check. Please note that this link will expire 48 hours after it is originally sent.
- Complete your pre-hire documents in your application portal.
Pre-Hire Appointment
You will attend a Pre-Hire Appointment before attending your orientation. This appointment will take 30-60 minutes and will include:
- Drug Screening
- Medical History and Vaccination Review
- Taking your ID Badge photo
On the date/time of your appointment, please report to entrance C of the hospital (refer to this map) and let the receptionist know you are here for your pre-hire appointment in Human Resources. Please bring the following items:
- Proof of work authorization (List A document or List B & List C document; please refer to the USCIS website for a list of acceptable forms of documentation.) Note that the original document is needed, and copies cannot be accepted.
- CPR certification, and other appropriate certifications, if applicable (we accept AHA or American Red Cross only.)
- Completed health history form (can also be found in your Welcome Letter email.)
- Documentation of the following vaccines: MMR, Tetanus, Hepatitis, and Varicella (see below if you do not have documentation.)
- Documentation of current TB skin tests. If you have not received a TB test, one will be performed during your appointment (the result will need to be read 2-3 days after receiving.)
- If you have already received a flu shot this year, or have a medical exemption to receiving one, please bring your documentation. If you have not received a flu shot, one may be administered during your appointment if you do not have an exemption.
How Do I Obtain My Vaccination Records?
Please refer to these CDC guidelines for locating your vaccination records, and for information on what to do if they cannot be located. We cannot obtain them on your behalf.
Vaccination Review
Your vaccination records must be submitted and show that you have successfully received all required vaccinations prior to beginning employment (listed above). If you are missing vaccination proof of MMR, Varicella or Hepatitis B, you will have titers drawn by the Occupational Health nurse during your pre-hire appointment. Should the titer be negative for immunity, Occupational health will administer the vaccine prior to orientation or during the orientation week.
All Nash employees, members of the Board of Directors, medical staff, volunteers, and contract workers must be immunized against influenza each year. The flu vaccine is provided free of charge. Exemptions to immunization may be granted for medical contraindications.
