Pastoral Care
When you need spiritual and emotional support during hospitalization or for health care decisions, lean on the chaplains at Nash UNC Health Care.
Spiritual Support
Reach out for spiritual healing while you’re a patient at Nash UNC. Rest assured our pastoral care providers can help calm and reassure you. Our chaplains offer assistance by:
- Comforting you during grief, pain or loss
- Encouraging you during treatment or before surgery
- Helping your family and friends cope
- Listening to your concerns
- Offering prayers for your well-being
- Supporting you through illness and health care decisions
Ask your nurse or care team if you want to request a visit from a chaplain during your stay at Nash UNC.
Ceremonies
Chaplains are available to offer religious rituals and services (blessings, communion, baptisms, etc.) during your hospital stay.
Religious Texts
Request a free King James version of the Bible or a New Testament and Psalms book from a chaplain. Gideons International donates the books to Nash UNC. Efforts will be made to make available other sacred texts.
Faith Partners in Rocky Mount
Ask our chaplains to arrange a visit from your faith leader or a leader from your religious denomination to meet your needs. Partnerships with religious groups, denominations and faith groups in Rocky Mount and surrounding communities allow our chaplains to make requests on your behalf.
Advance Directives
Draw on our experience with advance care planning to help inform your decisions. Advance directives information is available to you and your family with guidance from our chaplains.
Working Within Our Community
Connect with our chaplains to bridge the gap between your hospital care and community health care. Count on us to refer you to community services to help you heal and grow after your hospital stay.
Pastoral Education
If you’re in training to become a chaplain, develop or expand your skills with clinical pastoral education (CPE) through Nash UNC.
